GENERAL LABORER – LUBBOCK, TEXAS

Location: 604 N. Avenue Q, Lubbock, TX 79403
Payroll: Bi-Weekly
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Weekends as Needed)
Pay Rate: $17.00 per Hour

Position Summary
The General Laborer performs a variety of warehouse and production support duties to ensure efficient shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment operations. This position assists with material handling, product assembly, warehouse maintenance, and safe operation of equipment while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse equipment, including barrel rollers and band saws, in a safe manner.
- Pull customer orders accurately and assemble products for shipment.
- Receive, inspect, unload, and process incoming materials and warehouse stock.
- Load and unload trucks using proper material handling procedures.
- Package products and prepare materials for shipment, including labeling and marking.
- Assemble crates, pallets, and other shipping containers as needed.
- Verify counts, weights, and inventory accuracy before shipment.
- Move materials throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving documentation as required.
- Maintain warehouse organization and inventory storage areas.
- Perform general warehouse housekeeping, including sweeping, cleaning, and breaking down boxes.
- Clean and maintain work areas, machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and report equipment concerns.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding work assignments or operational issues.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
- Attend required safety training and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and accurate measurements.
- Ability to read and use measuring devices, including tape measures.
- Knowledge of common warehouse tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent physical activity in a warehouse environment.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Walk throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, and reach.
- Frequently grasp, handle, and manipulate materials.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
- Lift more than 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a heavy industrial warehouse environment. Employees may be exposed to:
- Noise from machinery and warehouse operations
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Forklift traffic
- Dust and dirt
- Indoor and outdoor weather conditions
- Repetitive physical work
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety
Employees must wear approved PPE at all times, including safety glasses, a respirator, hearing protection, and steel-toed (steel or composite toe) shoes.
Hard hats must be worn when applicable. Seatbelts must be worn when and if operating forklifts. Compliance with all safety protocols is required.
Employees operating forklifts or powered industrial trucks must wear seat belts and follow all company safety procedures.
