Hours:      6:00 AM to 4:30 PM 
Days:       
Monday through Thursday (Fridays as needed)
Position:  Hourly   
Payroll:    Bi-Weekly                  

Hourly Pay      $20 to $22 D.O.E. (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary

Responsible for performing welding and fabrication operations on a variety of components and products to support the department's direct labor operations.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties

  • Weld and fabricate products to meet quality requirements and customer specifications.
  • Determine procedures and types of equipment required based on metal type and size.
  • Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure the proper production of welded products.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and safekeeping of equipment.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding any issues or concerns related to the drilling process
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and/or management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of welding experience (preferred).  
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment specifications.
  • Experience with MIG welding machines.
  • Familiarity with working with mild and stainless steel.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with air-powered tools.
  • Operate hand tools such as a grinder.
  • Able to read a tape measurer.
  • Must have the ability to perform accurate measurements and basic arithmetic.
  • Mechanically inclined. 
  • Must have good hand to eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others to work as a team.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Occasional to continuous.
  • Walking: Occasional to frequent.
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling: Frequent.
  • Gripping/manipulation: Frequent
  • Lifting and Carrying: Up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis

 

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a loud noise environment. This position regularly involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and tools. The employee also regularly works outdoors in various weather conditions at an individual welding station.

Personal Protective Equipment and Safety

Employees must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, a face shield, leather gloves, hearing protection, a hard hat, and steel-toed shoes. Always adhere to established safety practices.
