Job Summary:
We are seeking a technologically adept Mechanical Drafter/Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Solidworks CAD software, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of modern manufacturing processes. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate with designers and engineers to bring innovative products to life while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all designs and documentation.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Interpret and create detailed drawings from verbal instructions, sketches, or reverse engineering.
- Utilize precision measuring tools to inspect parts during various stages of machining.
- Collaborate with product designers to foresee and address manufacturing challenges in new designs or modifications.
- Develop and maintain 3D models and technical drawings for new products using the latest Solidworks CAD software.
- Manage items and bills of materials (BOMs) in the ERP System (Syteline CS preferred).
- Update legacy drawings to current CAD formats.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive libraries of part files, drawings, and related documentation.
- Ensure drawing title blocks, notes, and revision dates are accurately maintained.
- Investigate and incorporate changes and additions to ensure the accuracy of all information.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate's degree / Solidworks CAD Drafting/Design or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office; knowledge of other CAD software is a plus.
- Understanding of metal fabrication and modern manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
- Moderate noise level environment.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and tools.
